Living Room Coffee | Mini-brand Identity Program

Comfy couches, warm drinks, and feet kicked up on a coffee table. Living Room’s muse is just that—a communal space where friends and family get together.

Type Exploration

Unconventionally, the color palette was roughly established early on, so the first real challenge was exploring how typography would influence the aesthetic and mood of the brand.

Mascot

The client was excited to incorporate more than just a logotype. I proposed a solution to create a literal icon. Through countless discussions about what figurehead would represent the brand we finally landed on a hedgehog because of its timid nature and innate curiosity—plus there is also one hedgehog that can run 767 miles per hour and that’s pretty neat.

Icons

These brand elements are representations of what people remember about the cafe. For example they have an icon snack called the “Everything Waffle” which also meant that it was essential piece of the Living Room’s narrative.

Brand Kit

Sometimes giant brand guidelines can be daunting to look at, so for this client I created a quick sheet that would show the most essential info including the logo, lockups. colors, and typography.
